i should have been doing something great. this could have been me, but...i spent a year dicking around in a foreign country. as much as i hate studying, i think i should come back and get my life back on track...seeing this picture makes me wonder whether i could have achieved something like this. obvious from the looks of things now, i'm nowhere near it.

expectations...
i should have been doing something great. this could have been me, but...i spent a year dicking around in a foreign country. as much as i hate studying, i think i should come back and get my life back on track...seeing this picture makes me wonder whether i could have achieved something like this. obvious from the looks of things now, i'm nowhere near it.

just randomly found your blog through google (was looking up international english school) as I needed the address of the place. I used to work there from June 2006 - June 2007. It was awesome at the time and I certainly miss it but I also understand what you're going through. The feeling of not belonging and of not having direction is incredibly disheartening, but truck through it. I'm sure you won't regret it once you've completed your contract. It felt so good to have fought my way through it and (especially being someone of ethnic origin) having lived a year in a country that I barely understood and it's denizens probably felt the same way about me.
Anyway, I got the address of the school from your blog, thanks! And can you tell Nick/the Wongjangnim to please please please plea PLEASE get my med school essays out ASAP? I'll probably call them soon to check in, but you probably know how Nick is with getting things done... sigh
Anyway, I'm definitely a rando to you so just to let you know my name is Anirudh Garg, but most people just call me Ani. I am Canadian and left Korea to pursue an MSc back here in Canada and I think that had I not done Korea for that year, despite how hard it was, I don't think i'd be the same person now. I learned an incredible amount about myself and the world. So, just keep your head up and smile, you'll not have regretted going to korea once you come back :)
